Sliding windows
- Sliding windows are usually the most simple and cost effective option to provide an opening window.
- Fin/fur seals offer good insulation to minimise noise and heat transfer.
- Can be installed with security screens covering either the opening half or the entire window.
Awning windows (top hinged)
- Good weatherproofing and insulation.
- Security screens can be installed with a chain winder to operate the window.
Casement windows (side hinged)
- Good weatherproofing and insulation.
- Often used to replace timber casement windows without changing the look.
- Casement windows are more difficult to screen than other types of window. Hinged or sliding screens are usually needed.
Double hung windows
- Panels slide up and down.
- Ideal for tall and narrow openings.
